Millions
of people across East Africa are facing a food crisis. Affected countries are Kenya,
Somalia, Ethiopia
and Tanzania. The situation is worse than it has been for
many years.
As fusion artists I think it is important for
us to recognize our "roots" and take some responsibility in order to help the people that inspire us. I know personally that
I am influenced and appreciate many textiles and styles of "tribal" jewelry that come out of Africa.
I would like to be able to do something the help the tribes, before they are gone and all we have is a memory of what we were
once inspired by....so
Come out for an evening of live entertainment
& great food, and help us raise some money to benefit these starving people. There will be various belly dance, tribal
& fusion belly dance, poi spinning and fire performances by some of D.C.'s top talent!
Donations will be taken at the door & all
proceeds will be donated to OXFAM in order to help with the East African food crisis
